I ordered this brush to replace an identical Spornette 410 I've used for about six years and was very happy with. I could not find one in local stores so was glad to find it online at a reasonable price of $14.95 and eligible for free shipping. I've used it for six months now and am very unhappy that almost all of the little balls on the tips of the bristles have worn off. I am doing nothing differently with my hair than I did with my original brush which lasted six years so I can only conclude that the product has been cheapened in some way that causes it to wear out quickly. Yesterday, I bought a brush from the Dollar Store that I am very happy with and if it doesn't last long, at least it will only cost me $1 - not $15 - to replace.

Spornette Brush #954 Italian 2" Diameter Review

I love a similar brush I bought from a beauty supply store some 20 years ago, so someone else may be brushing my hair in a nursing home before this one needs replacing. Thank you AMAZON.

(More customer reviews)I've gone through so many hairbrushes looking for one that I can use while drying my hair straight that won't break my hair. This is a wonderful hairbrush that has natural boar bristles and a wooden base and handle. The bristles are long enough to go through your hair and plenty big enough to wrap long hair around when blow drying straight. The brush is also nice because it is all one piece and wood. My old brushes had groves where the handle and the brush part met or had groves in the handle that my hair would get wrapped around and pulled causing it to break. I have so many little hairs standing on my head that resulted from broken hairs that caught around certain parts of brushes. This brush is wonderful because there are no groves or areas for your hair to get caught.
I would have given this brush 5 stars but the only thing I don't like about his brush is that the handle is too thin. For the size of the brush, the handle should be a little bigger. It does get pretty uncomfortable to use this brush for my long thick hair towards the end. I can blow dry about half of my hair before this brush starts to hurt my hand. I end up having to take a break and finish the rest. This would be the perfect brush if the handle could be a little thicker. If your hair takes less time to dry or is shorter, you may not have any issues with this brush. Other than the handle thickness, this brush is perfect!

(More customer reviews)The Marilyn Brush replaced all my other brushes. I have the Uptown and Downtown, and they both do wonders to my hair. Yes, its a bit pricey, but if you want traffic stopping hair, this is for you! I have coarse, long black hair, and every time I brush, it looks like newly clean brushed "volumey" hair instead of stringy oily hair. Downtown is great in your purse. I guess what makes this different from other brushes is the little plastic thingies that shoot out more than the boar hairs. It really does massage my head. It might be rough on some heads, but on mine, it feels good and it actually builds circulation to prevent hair loss. Just make sure you clean the brush every now and then (I never realized how much lint I captured in my hair).

I have wavey/curly hair and I have purchased lots of different brushes with disappointing results & was tired of frying my hair with the flatiron. Then, I came across this brush & thought I would give it a try......I will never use another brush again. I very highly recommend this brush to anyone!!
