make it very easy to get a good flat contact surface against the
teeth. The bristles were very durable and I soaked mine in peroxide
and it lasted much longer than an Oral-B or similar premium toothbrush.
Well worth the price and the bigger surface area of the head makes
each stroke approximately 4 times as effective as the small head
styles, by my calculations.
I really love it and will buy it again and again!

Crest 3D White Vivid Fluoride Toothpaste Review

(More customer reviews)I was recently given a sample of "Crest Vivid White," and would generally recommend it under most circumstances. I have never had any cavities, but as I get older I have noticed that my teeth aren't as white as they used to be. Unfortunately, I have a crown that is visible when I smile that was perfectly color-matched when it was replaced a few years ago. In my specific case, I had to discontinue using the "Vivid White" because it significantly whitened my natural teeth, but was not whitening the crown (at least at the same rate.) Before the difference became noticeable I stopped using it.
For most people I highly recommend this product as it does make teeth notably whiter; if you happen to have dental work visible when you smile, exercise caution, as the whitening effect may not be even. I think most people would love this toothpaste.

(More customer reviews)I have never felt comfortable applying those paint-on teeth whiteners where you have to force your mouth into unnatural and scary looking positions for several minutes. I don't have the patience to keep my darn lips off my teeth for 10 seconds never mind two entire minutes. It's a torturous procedure for lazy me and though I've bought several of those paint-on kits I've never made it more than 3 days in a row before throwing in the towel and resigning myself to a life of coffee-stained choppers.
When I read an add for this stuff hawked by the likes of Danny Aiello (I kid you not) and "jet setters worldwide", which claimed all you had to do was brush your teeth (heck, even I can do that), I couldn't resist. This product is pricey and when it arrived I was a bit surprised by the itty bitty tubes and the weird directions which instructed me to use it on a dry toothbrush. However, I had already shelled out my cash and my teeth weren't exactly what they used to be so I gave it a go.
Per the instructions I applied just a pea sized drop of the toothpaste and another pea sized drop of the accelerator (which they say must be used with their toothpaste in order to work but, hmmm, I wonder . . .) and proceeded to gently scrub each tooth in a circular motion until the timer informed me that two minutes had passed. This wasn't nearly as difficult as attempting to keep my teeth dry for the same length of time! This two minute brushing, they say, should be done at least twice a day but after a few days I sometimes "forgot" the nighttime step and settled for a quick brushing with just the toothpaste out of pure exhaustion.
After just a few days I noticed a definite difference. My teeth felt very clean and were at least a shade whiter. Now, several weeks later I'm still using this stuff (it lasts forever because you don't have to use all that much) and my coffee stains are gone. My teeth are noticeably whiter but not that scary, blinding "Zoom" white that looks like you've just spent a months salary bleaching your teeth.
I highly recommend this if you have moderate staining and some extra cash. It's not something I'll buy on a regular basis but since there's no way I'm giving up coffee it is something I'll most likely need to use again.

(More customer reviews)well, for one, I had barely any enamel on my teeth. Eating was horribly painful if it was sweet or cold food. I had this problem for so long I have developed habits of eating that are less painful. its horrific, really. Brushing took me about 8 tries on a bad day, 2-4 on a good one. I would have to rinse alot because the pain of the tooth paste was too much.
I have been using this for about a month now. Its very painful to brush with, and it is made in China which makes me wary of it, China doesn't have great standards and many things from it have caused problems for the US. I was wary, but desperate. I saw reviews that where good, and some that said it did nothing, but none reported death or illness so I thought I would give it a go haha.
The tooth brush it comes with is nice. My teeth do feel smoother, and I THINK that they are getting less sensitive, I notice I'm having to rinse less when I brush, and it hurts less when I brush, also I am able to eat sweet foods better without as much pain... I think it is actually getting better, and I'm SO relieved! sensodyne, which just numbs the nerves, didn't seem like a brilliant solution... if the tubules are still exposed, I thought, couldn't food and things that would further damage the problem or cause cavities get in there? it seemed dumb. So now I've been using this stuff.
here is a little break down list style:
Pros:
I think its working. I am deffinitally expirincing less pain
Its cheaper then the prescription stuff I hear, and easier to procure
Flouride free, big plus for those of us who do not want flouride, for various reasons I dont need to go into here.
tastes fine
makes my teeth feel smooth
increases brightness/whiteness a bit
Can be used on a daily basis
Contains Novamin which is an actual valid active ingredient for restoring enamel
Cons:
Made in China, dubious quality control
leaves funny powdery/dry weird residue on things, have to wash off tube and brush and hands alot.
painful to brush with, more so then regular tooth paste, for me at least, but I have/had REALLY sensitive teeth.
not very potent, takes a while to work
not ADA approved
does not tell you just how MUCH novamin is in the tooth paste
no specific instructions (makes me think not alot of novamin is in there at all)
so there you have it. is it worth the money? well how bad is the pain? have you been to a dentist to see if its a cavity? do you KNOW the problem is enamel related? then try it why not, supposedly a bottle of SoothRX which is the US ADA approved novamin tooth paste that restores (and is ALOT more potent) costs $40, but supposedly you also use that alot less. So its a pro-con kind of thing. myself, I have no dental insurance now and I'm in horrible pain, so it was worth the money to try it. I'm glad I did, it turned out well for me. Though in the future, I probably will try to get the RX stuff.

(More customer reviews)I have always been a fan of Crest toothpaste products and have even used a variety of their whitening strips as well. When offered the chance to test and review this new "whitening" toothpaste, I eagerly accepted.
As I consume a large amount of coffee each day, I am always fighting to prevent staining of my teeth. I have tried whitening toothpaste offerings from other manufacturers in the past and have found that they are ALWAYS extremely expensive and never really produce noticeable results. So when I saw the price of the new Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Fluoride Toothpaste, I was sure I was going down a road that I was already familiar with. It is indeed quite pricey and the amount of product you get is not exactly what I would call generous. However, from the first brushing experience with this toothpaste I was convinced that Crest had come up with a really great product.
The tube itself has a flip-over, snap top, which makes it easy to open and close while holding your brush. I have a fairly large power toothbrush so I greatly appreciate not having to fight with a threaded cap. The paste itself is a brilliant white color, with lines of clear gel blended in. The taste is nothing short of amazing! I like a strong, minty taste and this new Crest toothpaste provides just that. Now one thing I immediately noticed is that this toothpaste creates a bit of foaming action, which is not unpleasant in the least, but I would recommend that you do NOT add water to your brush when using this product. When I added even a slight amount of water I found that I had white foam falling out of my mouth by the time I finished brushing. When finished brushing my teeth feel very clean and somewhat tingly. To me it feels almost the same as when I have my teeth professionally cleaned. But does it whiten your teeth? Well I guess that is in the eye of the beholder.
After using the Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Fluoride Toothpaste for a week (brushing with it 3 times per day), I did notice a 'slight' improvement in the color of my teeth. Still, I don't think it would provide extreme whitening all on its own. Therefore I decided to use the Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Whitestrips (another great Crest product), to do the initial whitening of my teeth, and I now use the Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Fluoride Toothpaste to maintain the level of whiteness. So far I am extremely pleased with this whitening toothpaste, in its ability to keep my teeth white, and I just cannot express enough how great the minty taste of this product is.
So if your teeth only need a mild amount of whitening then this new Crest product may do the trick. But if you are looking to whiten your teeth by several shades, I would highly recommend using the Crest Whitestrips I mentioned above (or another proven whitening product you are comfortable with), and then use this new Crest 3D White Advanced Vivid Fluoride Toothpaste as a daily maintenance product to keep your teeth a brilliant white. The only reason I am not giving this Crest toothpaste a perfect 5-star rating is because of the high cost for the small tube. Brushing with it 3 times a day requires me to purchase more than one tube per month. My next experiment is going to be brushing with this toothpaste once per day and using my normal Crest toothpaste for the rest of my brushings, to see if my teeth remain as white as they are now. If I can use this rather expensive product as a supplement only, then I will gladly continue buying it going forward.

Some contain peroxide, others baking soda, others abrasives and other exotic potions. It's a wonder some don't come with Sani-Flush as an ingredient. Then all brands seem to have small, medium, large and extra-large sizes. Did I mention travel size and trial size? What's a guy to do?
For years, I just bought one of the half-dozen brands on sale at the local food or drug store. Then, as the toothpaste wars escalated, I bought with freely-dispensed coupons and some supermarkets doubled the value of the coupons. It became such a good deal that some toothpaste was actually free. Well, my coupon days are over and I now shop at a warehouse club store where they have a limited selection but outstanding values. I asked my dentist for advice on the best toothpaste since I was totally confused by all the claims. He suggested that "Colgate Total Whitening Gel" was the best for my particular circumstances (which, by the way, wasn't the brand in the free packet of things I received with cleaning). I also noted that this particular brand/variety was highly rated by Consumer's Reports. It supposedly helped to prevent cavities with fluoride and resisted plaque and tartar buildup, which could lead to gingivitis, all while whitening the teeth. What more could I ask for? I bought a four-pack of tubes (7.8 ounces each). I've been very pleased with the toothpaste and the price was right. Only long-term usage will tell but I'm totally satisfied at this point.

You know, the ones we chew and it was supposed to show where we've missed brushing. I thought this was a good idea, especially in gel form; because I could never get that tablet color out from the deep grooves of my molars not matter how much I brushed.
The gel is sold next to the toddler toothpaste in the familiar bear box. Of course, I thought it would be great for my then toddler and preschool children to learn how to brush. Put it on and they brush like they usually do. When they're done, we're supposed to see how much blue is left on their teeth.
How wrong I was. I didn't anticipate the mess. Blue everywhere. We used it once, just enough so that I could see it work and never used it again; because I really didn't want to see if it could come out of clothing. I'm guessing it would come out, but I don't want to know.
This really is too messy for young children, the age group it appears targeted for. Older children will balk at having to use something with a baby bear on the box sold next to toddler toothpaste.
Oh, and yes, it works.

(More customer reviews)This really would have been a great product if they would have worked out some of the problems before putting it on the market first. This worked "okay" (not great) for me for the first tube and a half of toothpaste, then it died. It doesn't really dispense enough toothpaste for a full "serving", so we often would do a "double pump" which ended up leaving a mess inside the pumping area. Toothpaste that remains inside the nozzle gets dried out over night, and is thick and gross the next day. After the first tube, I attempted to clean out the nozzle and pumping area. The second tube was a complete failure. It was a real struggle to get it to work at all, and the gunked-up dry paste was even worse. Halfway through the second tube, I took it out and ran the nozzle under warm water while squeezing the accordian-like device to remove the thick paste buildup in the device. While I was doing this a little rubber gasket came out, and I could not figure out how to put it back in. I would rather throw the **** thing in the garbage than call their 800 number and talk to a "customer care" associate. Yeah right. Let me guess how that will turn out. Save your money and buy toothpaste brand with an attached flip-top cap.

Our stopper on the bottom of our sink is missing so it's now the toothpaste lid graveyard. Hopefully my husband will clean out the graveyard one of these days. So far, so good! My kids love it, it encourages them to brush their teeth and sorta makes it fun. Mine don't leak and I expected it to get a little goopy with toothpaste from kids (and grown-ups) hitting the sides of it when you pull out your toothbrush with toothpaste on it. Wiping it down every few days won't be a problem for me. Now they are available at Bed Bath & Beyond so NO MORE SHIPPING!!! And they still come with the pathetic "sonic" toothbrush that you need earplugs to operate.
