(More customer reviews)I remembered purchasing a product with pure retinol in it (not this one) along with a pure plant-based toner and pure vitamin C serum many moons ago (about 17 years) and noticed how well my skin looked; pore reduction, firmness, collagen support, even skin-tone. Granted, I was in my early 30's and had minor skin problems (not associated with diet nor nutrition). When I first used this combination, I was very concerned, because my face began to break out and flake. I began to reduce the use of the retinol (used it along with toner and vit C serum 3 times, daily) to about twice-a-week. The following week, my face looked absolutely amazing! The unfortunate thing is that I could no longer find the line of products (discontinued) and never tried anything else again. I decided to try the sample of Skinceuticals Retinol and am very impressed with the results. I have been using the product for about 1 week, and already see the difference in the tone, texture and pore size of my skin with the use of this remarkable prodcut! I also like the fact that it doesn't have perfume or a fragrance which attract bugs! EVERY SINGLE TIME I USE ANYTHING WITH A SCENT/FRAGRANCE BUGS BITE ME, I HATE IT!...lol. It does, however have a slight medicinal-like? scent which may annoy some, but the scent does go away, within a few seconds and bugs don't bother me! The only negative is that my face is beginning to flake, so I guess this is a sign that it is regenerating/renewing skin-cells. I will reduce the applications to two/three times, weekly to see if this helps with the flakiness. Also, I will probably purchase pure vit. C serum. I thought about aloe, but my skin doesn't seem to like aloe. For me, this extraordinary product delivers and it does so, Quickly!

I am on Italian descent so I tan easily and very prettily. HOWEVER, I also understand what the sun can do and chose not to sunbake in my backyard. I decided to "test" this product for my upcoming nuptuals.
Number one: Remember QT from the 70's and 80's? This product is HIGHLY comparable to the fake, radioactive orange color.
Number two: The smell....dirty socks mixed 'n moonshine.
Number three: Streaky and blotchy...I did what I was supposed to....exfoliated, moisturized the tempermental parts and STILL ended up with streaks. I look like a piece of Fruit Stripe gum.
I'm hoping it doesn't last the full 14 days, but since I only applied it on my calves once, and a lot seemed to come off after an exfoliating shower this morning, I'm hoping it's a myth and in the next 3 or 4 days I'll be good to go (not glow) as the blushing bride, not the nuclear fallout bride!
STAY AWAY! Jergen's Express Glow is a much better, easier to use, easier to control product that provides a natural looking tan! GlowFusion is neither worth the hype nor the price and I am embarrassed for the folks at Nordstrom who raved of its benefits! No wonder you can't even buy it on their website anymore!
BUYER BEWARE!!!! Be afraid...very afraid.

I have somewhat dark circles under my eyes & a few lines at the crease of my right eye (from sleeping on my face). When I use the eye cream, my eyes look brighter & the lines are diminished.
I thought I'd give this product a try to save a step in my morning makeup routine. Unfortunately, I have fair skin & the concealer is much too dark. It's hard to tell but I'd say it would work best for anyone with a medium complection or darker. Fair skinned ladies, stay away.

(More customer reviews)Summary: After using this product for three weeks, I have elected to stay with the regimen constructed by my dermatologist: Renova (for exfoliating dead skin and building collagen) and CeraVe (for moisturizing). While some may find this cost prohibitive, I will elect to invest a little more in my skin-care to achieve optimal results. A study recently conducted by Allure magazine agrees.
The details: With Renova running about $200.00 per tube and Olay claiming comparable results, I decided to take a break from my usual regime and try Pro-X. The results simply paled in comparison. My skin simply lacked the luster and smoothness that Renova delivers. Moreover, while Renova is odorless, there is a slight medicinal note to the Pro-X products. (I'm curious if that scent is added to give the consumer a feeling that he/she is using a product that is comparable to prescription "medications" or if it's merely a result of the ingredients).
Who I think this could see results from this system: I have always been devoted to proper skincare. When I entered my 20s, I began yearly trips to the dermatologist to ensure that I would never have "play catch-up" with time. Ten years later: Renova was/is worth every single dollar. (And when used properly, peeling is very rare). However, if you have been neglecting your skin for years (by sun-bathing, not wearing a SPF daily, smoking, drinking etc...) and want to change your habits as well as the quality of your skin, I believe you will see results with Pro-X. No, it will not be the same as visiting your local dermatologist, but it will be a close second. So, PLEASE, skip the expensive department-store creams (like Chanel, Clinique, Estée Lauder, etc...), they are nearly as expensive as Renova (if not MORE expensive) and do not have shared results. (Kinerase is the exception here ... dermatologists do recommend this product for diminishing fine lines and improving texture).
If you do not have medical insurance and do not care to pay for a visit to the dermatologist (it can be pricey, I agree), try Pro-X and expect results.
The caveat: Allure magazine recently conducted an independent study of Pro-X (which alleges to give similar results to Renova). (See this month's issue). The results: after 24 weeks of using Pro-X, subjects saw a 25% reduction in the appearance of wrinkles ... but the results were not as dramatic as those who use Renova. (However, subjects did not experience the potential dryness and peeling that can result from over-applying or overusing Renova).
So it's pretty much about your expectations and your priorities (and the state of your finances). Pro-X will deliver results to those who have seriously neglected their skin. Pro-X will not deliver results to those who have been vigilant (i.e. obsessed with optimal skin health). If you are tempted, then I say, try this product ... and (whatever the results) return here and post your experience!

(More customer reviews)A lot of people don't know about this magnesium stuff. It has been said that 61% of the US population does not meet the US RDA for levels of magnesium. Also consistent with this, is data from the 2005-2006 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), which indicates that in about 60% of all adults, the usual magnesium intakes from food do not meet the EAR.
But so what if you aren't getting enough of this stuff? Well, epidemiological studies have indicated that a low magnesium status is associated with numerous pathological conditions, some of which include atherosclerosis, hypertension, osteoporosis, diabetes mellitus, and some cancers (colon, breast). If that's not enough, it's even been suggested that magnesium deficiency results in an inflammatory response.
Okay, I guess we could all use a little more of this stuff, because not getting enough could cause us some pretty bad problems. So all we need to do is just eat a little more food with magnesium in it, right? Well not so fast. Apparently magnesium is absorbed orally at about 30% bioavailability. While you may not know what "bioavailability" is, most know 30% doesn't sound good.
Well, from what I know, bioavailability is used to describe how much of something actually reaches your systemic circulation. For instance, a medication that you get administered intravenously (through your veins via an IV), has a bioavailability of 100%. This means that 100% of the medication is getting distributed throughout your body (pharmacist reviewers please join in).
However, when a medication is administered via other routes (such as orally), its bioavailability decreases (due to factors such as incomplete absorption).
Okay, back to magnesium. Since it's bioavailability is 30% when taken orally-this means that out of any amount of magnesium you eat, only about 30% is getting to your systemic circulation-which is not very good or an efficient way to get your magnesium. And that's the whole idea behind this product, spray on magnesium oil. It's suppose to be a better way of delivering magnesium to your body, to combat the magnesium deficiencies that surveys are pointing out a a lot of people have. Spraying on magnesium also avoids any stomach discomfort you have from taking Mg pills.
As far as this particular product, its reasonably priced for the amount you get. Some people have reported a stinging or burning sensation when applied, so just be aware of that. As always, I'd suggest checking with your doctor before using it just to be safe. All-in-all, a very promising treatment, magnesium spray, so check into it! Also recommend Treat Your Own Spinal for Stenosis if you suffer from a bad back.

(More customer reviews)I had been using mineral foundation for five years or so, and needed longer lasting coverage, and got a coupon for this stuff, so I thought I'd try it. First of all, apparently EVERYONE is the same tone as me, so it took a while for my shade to be available.
This is my second try attempt at getting back into liquid foundation. Because my skin is so sensitive, I have to be careful what products I do use, which is why I had originally switched to Mineral foundation. I tend to be pretty pale, and don't tan much, but at 38, I am starting to have moderate skin aging issues (inconsistent tone, fine lines, slight sun damage), which is also why I wanted to try this product.
I have been using it for a couple weeks, and I have already seen an improvement in the texture and tone of my skin (when I am not wearing the foundation) the foundation does not go on unusually oily, even though I put it over a serum/moisturizer. It goes on very smoothly, but the tint is a little lighter than I expected. This does provide a great deal of coverage (much more than I expected, but it does look very good) At the end of the day, it does not feel really slick. It blends very well for being so full coverage. I don't see demarcation lines or anything, even though my natural tone is a little bit deeper than the makeup. (I used the third lightest tone, and found it to be a little pale)The finish is not 'dewy' or moist, and gives a pretty flawless look. (Even, and made up but not masky)
All in all, I found it to be a very easy to use, blendable product, that covers well and feels okay. It does rub off a bit, but the 'transfer-proof' stuff tends to feel a little more masky, so I am willing to compromise for the skin benefits.I would totally recommend this product.

The Wave ( it comes as a Starter Kit ) is a hand-held vibrating cleanser and comes with two trail packs of pre-soaped pads and the necessary AA battery.
The size of the Wave is perfect. It fits easily and comfortably in your hand and is about 3 inches in size ( approximately the size of your palm ). Small, half-dollar sized, pre-soaped pads are placed on the head of the Wave - and this is wonderful, mild Neutrogena soap. You activate the soap by running the Wave under some water. You then turn on the Wave with a push button and that's it. You're all set to use the Wave - moving it over your face. When you're done - you pull off the pad, and throw it away. Simple.
The soap pads are very easy to use. You just place them on the head of the Wave. The head is designed to "grab" the pads. There is no pushing, no connecting, no messing with anything - just put them there.
My favorite thing about the Wave though, is that it can be used at the sink or in the shower. Yes, in the shower! You don't have to make an extra stop at the sink to wash your face before jumping into the shower. Yipee!
The vibration of the Wave is just perfect, gentle - it is NOT abrasive and it does not move in circles or brush against your face. You don't end up with patchy red areas!
The soap on the pads is mild and soft and leaves your face feeling wonderful. Neutrogena is famous for it's soap, and using it once, you know why.
Because both the vibration and soap is mild - you can safely use the Wave every day, anytime you wash your face. You don't have to be concerned with using it too often or it being too rough on you. I use it daily without any issues at all.
Travelers : This item is small and you can easily put it in your make-up case or travel-pack.
I got the pink colored Wave, though I have seen green and blue colors available.
My only issue with the whole package is that the pre-soaped pads do not come in a re-sealable pouch.
All and all, though - This items is great and I highly recommend it.
This item includes : Wave Cleanser device, 14 pre-soaped pads and a AA battery.
Refill pads, in sets of 30, are required after you use the initially supplied 14.

(More customer reviews)Okay, so 80 bucks seems like a lot of money to plunk down for an at-home microdermabrasion kit...especially when everyone from Homedics to L 'Oreal is marketing a more cost-friendly version of what appears to be the same EXACT thing. However, experience (and lots of money not-so-well spent) has taught me that, in most cases, you generally get what you pay for. Case in point: a few months ago I finally made the decision to trade in my 99 cent ultra-black mascara for a high-end name brand version of the same product...I immediately discovered that mascara-induced racoon eyes really can be avoided! Who knew? After that, I vowed never to pinch pennies when it comes to beauty. Now there are, of course, some exceptions; my mother swears by Oil of Olay -as do I- but when you're talking about microderabrasion, a proceedure that can cost as much as $150 per session, it's hard to believe that you can achieve the same exact results with something that is a mere fraction of the cost.
Skeptical but desperate for youthful looking skin, I opted to splurge on the DermaNew Facial Rejuvenation System. Prior to my purchase, I did a fair amount of research so I knew that what I was getting the crème de la crème of the more than twenty-plus versions that I had to choose from.
Just two weeks after using it, I began to notice that my once sallow complexion (thanks to stress, lack of sleep and yo-yo dieting) had been replaced with a healthy glow. Now my skin looks soft and peachy, kind of like it did when I was twelve...you know, when youth and beauty was effortless...sigh!
All in all this product is best for someone with little to no skin flaws. Those who are expecting miracle results or results similar to what you would get from a full-service salon treatment may be dissapointed. My advice, shell out the necessary funds in order to get your skin under control, then use this product for the upkeep. This is great for removing the dead skin that regular washing tends to leave behind.

(More customer reviews)This is a great little product - Neutrogena took the vibrating rejuvenator unit that it used for its Microdermabrasion kit and added a velcro piece that allows you to attach the rejuvenator puffs. Instructions tell you to use it for 2-3 minutes per facial area - I use it for 5-6 minutes on my entire face just before jumping in the shower in the morning. It replaces my scrub a few times a week. So far I've noticed drastically smoother skin - and at 27 I am looking for something to really scrub away dead skin cells and maybe even out my skin a bit. This feels like it is doing both. The puff foams up with water, and is definitely a bit scratchy. There is a pleasant smell when you are using it.
I had to take off two stars for the following: price. It's overpriced. The unit comes with batteries, but you're still paying $35-39 for a low-tech electronic vibrating device and 12 puffs. Twelve. That will last you 3 or 4 weeks at the most.
The second star is lost by the puffs themselves. They can't be found anywhere. I've looked online and in the store. I'm yet to find them - so I am hoping I do so before I run out of the ones that came with the unit.
UPDATE 1/4/08 - refill puffs are now available on both Amazon and major retail stores. There was quite a delay there, though, so I know the early adopters were really sweating it out. Whew!

I remove my makeup with the Regenerist Cleansing Wipes first so I do like the fact that the cleansing systems removes any makeup that's left behind. I will post an update at day 10.

(More customer reviews)Hmmm. I normally like Olay products, so I'm not sure how they wound up with this huge misfire. But this product is awful. Even for free.
First of all, the name of the product is "7-in-1 Anti-aging Eye Cream". So, call me crazy, but I thought this would be, you know, an eye cream. It's not. There is nothing eyecreamy going on here... it's not moisturizing at all and in fact my middle aged eyes (and I would think I am the target demo here) need an actual eye cream first for this product to go on at all. So ... what's the point? It also claims to 'immediately reduce the appearance of dark circles'. I had to laugh. Dark circle appearance is reduced because this is a concealer. It's makeup! There's nothing magic, it's not actually treating your dark circles... it's hiding them.
Which brings me to my second point: Even if you accept this product for what it is (a concealer), it still fails. The gigantic nylon brush glops way too much product on, and you need to use your finger to blend it anyway so why bother with a brush at all? The texture is very thick and unpleasant. The color is too dark for me. This is a very heavy, unnatural-looking concealer. Yuck.
BOTTOM LINE: This is a concealer, not an eye cream - you need to use an actual eye cream first to get this stuff to go on smoothly. As a concealer it is heavy and gloppy and thick. I can't recommend this product to anyone at all. I tried it for a few days to give a fair review, then tossed it.
