Usually it takes about 15 minutes, at the minimum, to dry my hair, but with this dryer, it only took 5 minutes! I would buy this dryer for everyone I know!

Hot Tools Professional Turbo Dryer Model 1069 Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my wife who gets up very early for work while everyone else is still sleeping. We were seeking a solution for the annoying and piercing "screaming" of her hair dryer at 4:30AM, and this turned up in a search for "super quiet" hair dryers. Well, this unit does offer some nice improvements in both speed and temperature selections as well as a momentary "cool" button. But although it is perhaps a little lower in the tone or frequency of its sound, the total noise produced by it is only nominally different from the much cheaper unit it replaced. We don't sense that it puts out more air or heat than the much less expensive one we had, but it came with some interesting styling attachments to make it appear more like a pro unit. It also features a detachable lint filter at the intake which may be worth something down the road as that clogs. Our 12 year old son did think it was "cool" though -- whatever that may be worth.

Conair Infiniti Tourmaline Hair Designer (Wine) Review

(More customer reviews)I have long, thick, curly (frizzy, mediterranean) hair which I straighten, but which nonetheless frizzes if not properly dried. I've just tried this dryer -- I have several dryers, including the $235.00 tourmaline/ceramic/ionic -- and it works. The ends are not a problem (see previous review). You do have to get your fingers out of the way -- i.e., let go -- but you can curl your hand around the brush-end of the dryer to hold the ends flat as they dry. My hair looked as well or better as when I dry it in sections with the $235.00 hairdryer and a large brush. While the Conair blow dry was not quite as smooth as those that I've had at a high-end NYC salon, it definitely was as smooth as a "no appointment, FIFO" moderately priced salon blow dry. I would recommend it to anyone who has difficult hair and can't afford weekly blow-drys.

Vidal Sassoon VS540 1875-Watt Styler Dryer Review

(More customer reviews)I needed to replace my 1600 watt with attachments and found the 1875 is the new kid on the block. I liked the 1600 much better--but can't find one any place. The 1875 easily overheats on high and then shuts itself off. This happens almost everytime I dry my hair with it. Unfortunately, the medium setting doesn't give enough heat to properly dry my hair or I'd just keep it on that setting thoughout the drying process.

(More customer reviews)I originally bought this dryer for my mother who was using an ancient hair dryer that barely blew air. I decided that I needed to test it out first. Well, I loved it so much that I kept it for myself. It cut my drying time in half. I love how even the hottest air from the dryer seems cool compared to my old hair dryer. Also, I decided to get this for my best friend for Christmas. She has long, thick hair. She emailed me after two days of use and said (rather melodramatically) that the hair dryer had changed her life! She said that it cut her blowing time in half. She has mentioned it two other times since Christmas so she is very impressed and thrilled with the product. The only negative is that it is very heavy compared to my previous dryer. It took me a couple weeks to get used to it but now my arm doesn't remember the difference. I bought another one for my mother who likes it but said that it was drying her hair so quickly that she has to use the diffuser attachment so she has time to strategically style her hair with a brush before it is dry. We all highly recommend this product. Great value for the money.

A 1875W Ceramic Ionic Hair Dry Review

I've never been able to manage too well with a regular hair dryer - dryer in one hand, brush in the other, trying to reach behind your head and you sort of need a third hand. I use this dryer with the brush attachment and it gets my long, naturally curly, hair dry, straight and smooth in minutes. The settings work well and I love the cool-shot button, because it does get really hot, even on medium. It's never once shut off on me like some dryers do when they overheat.
The brush attachment is better than most, but could still use some improvement. Other brands I've looked at and tried had horrible plastic bristle brushes that just ripped hair out. The natural bristle brush on the Andis doesn't do that, but I do find it to be too soft to grab hair. I have to sort of hold my hair against the brush while I dry. How about a vent brush attachment? Now that would be perfect!

Conair Ion Shine 1875-Watt Hair Dryer Review

(More customer reviews)This is my only experience with an ionic hair dryer, so I have nothing with which to compare this one. However, I bought it because I had several expections about its features. Here is how each feature measured up:
Quicker? NO. It may even take a little longer than a standard 1875-watt dryer. The reason is that the fan does not blow very hard. The "high" setting blows about like the "low" setting on a standard dryer.
Reduced frizz/flyaways/static? YES. These are significantly reduced.
Increased shine? YES. My hair is visibly shinier.
Quieter? YES, but qualified. The only reason it is quieter is because it doesn't blow air as hard as a regular dryer.
Freshens hair? YES.
Another drawback: This dryer is very heavy. It took me several days to get used to how heavy it is.
This dryer delivers almost all of what ionic hairdryers promise, but I was mostly hoping for a dryer to speed drying time. If you have thin hair or hair that dries quickly or have plenty of time to dry your hair, then I would highly recommend this dryer. My hair looks shinier and healthier.

(More customer reviews)I scooped up the Conair 259 Infiniti Pro from Amazon's Vine program even though I did not need a new hair dryer because I thought either my wife, sister, or mother would want to try it. My mother had been using the same old-school dryer for over a decade and declined to try the Conair 259. My wife and sister however, were rather excited to try a combination ionic and ceramic hair dryer. The last hair dryer I purchased broke within 3 years so they certainly don't make them like they used to. Do they?

HAIR DRYING
If you're like my mother and haven't used or looked for a hair dryer in the last 10 years, then you probably have no idea what an ionic or ceramic hair dryer is. The ionic feature works by emitting negative ions and is supposed to address frizzing, enhance overall shine and even promote healthy hair. It is also supposed to lock in moisture and reduce static. The ceramic feature is supposed to help by providing even heat distribution to reduce drying times, thus decreasing heat exposure to your hair. Mind you, neither of these features are unique to Conair. Many modern hair dryers implement one or both technologies. Simply put, the features help, a lot. My sister swears by ionic hair dryers and the Conair 259 was her first combo unit she has tried and she really liked it. Her straight hair is typically down past her shoulder blades. My wife also enjoyed using it and her hair is wavy/curly and just past the top of her shoulders. The odd thing was that the "Cool" setting on the dryer was still pretty warm and the only way to get actual cool air was to use the blue cold-shot button.
WEIGHT AND BALANCE
I found the balance to be quite good and it felt natural in my hands. My wife and sister both agreed. We also all agreed that it was heavy. It wouldn't prevent us from buying it or using it, but I would not describe this hair dryer as being light in any way.
DURABILITY
As I mentioned previously, it doesn't seem to appear that they make hair dryers as durable as they once did, but the Conair 295 Infiniti Pro might just well buck that trend. It is built like a tank. It not only feels hefty, but entire unit feels solid and well made. The rocker switches operate smoothly as well and the removable filter ensures further durability.
NOISE
If you were envisioning drying your hair at night without disturbing others in the household, I have to pop that bubble for you. I have no idea how Conair's marketers could in good conscience use, "whisper-quiet" to describe this dryer. It may be slightly quieter than some models, but to most, it's probably as loud as any other dryer.
CONCLUSION
The Conair 259 Infiniti Pro would not have been tops on my list of hair dryers, but now that I have had a chance to use it, I'm not sure what hair dryer could top it for the price. A good value and recommended.

The brush doesn't tangle your hair up like other brush-dryers do (my last piece of Vidal Sasson garbage). The curling iron attachment uses hot air rather than heat, which is much better for your hair. Works really well, one of the best dryers I've used and MUCH better than holding a brush and a blow dryer!
